Project Engineer

Location: IJmuiden, The Netherlands

We are experiencing an increased demand for our services in offshore wind and are looking for a Project Engineer to support our growing operations in the UK (NL).

The position is based at our office in IJmuiden area and remote working solutions will not be considered.

Purpose and scope of the position

As a Project Engineer, you will support the preparation, execution, and completion of offshore wind projects. You will be the connecting link between our project management onshore and the execution offshore. You will work closely with Project Managers, site teams, subcontractors and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to the highest HSE and quality standards. You play a vital role in project planning, documentation, procurement coordination, and technical follow-up throughout the project lifecycle.

The position reports to the Project Director of Offshore Wind Services.

Qualifications, requirements and desired characteristics:

  • Technical degree (Bachelor or Master) in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Civil, Marine, Offshore, etc.)
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in offshore, construction, marine, or energy sectors
  • VCA VOL certification or willing to obtain it
  • Proficient in English (spoken and written)
  • Willing to travel abroad
  • Willing to work offshore occasionally
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and planning tools (e.g. MS Project)

Main responsibilities:

  • Assist in project planning, engineering, and execution
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including technical files and HSE-related materials
  • Develop technical method statements and identify resources (personnel and equipment) required
  • Coordinate procurement of project equipment and services
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to align expectations and deliverables
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks or potential delays, and report to the Project Manager
  • Support the mobilization and demobilization of resources and equipment
  • Assist in project evaluations and lessons learned sessions
  • Promote and adhere to Føn’s QHSE policies and procedures
